Course 4 - HTML Indexing Tools

A session focused on how to use each of the two dedicated web site indexing tools: HTML Indexer (with a free demo) and XRefHT32 (freeware). These are Windows programs only. This session may be combined with Session 1 for freelance indexers, or combined with Session 3 for webmasters, or taken on its own.

Course Outline

Lesson 1: XRefHT
Instruction in how to use the freeware web site indexing tool, XRefHT

Lesson 2: HTML Indexer
Instruction in how to use the commercial web site indexing tool, HTML Indexer, which has a free demo.

Lesson 3: Additional software features and practice
Instruction in additional features of XRefHT and HTML Indexer not covered in the first lessons, and additional practice using a choice of one of these tools with instructor feedback.


Software requirments: The freeware XRefHT has both a Windows version an a Java version that can run on any platform (Mac, Linux, etc.) as long as you have the Java Runtime Environment, which is also free to download. The other software tool, HTML Indexer is Windows only. Non-Windows users may take a shortened version of Course 4 for a discounted fee of $60.
