Carlisle Recreation offers summer swim lessons through the generosity of private home owners who donate the use of their pools. Offering summer employment to responsible and qualified teens and college students who are trained as counselors and instructors are an important part of the summer program.

Session A: July 5 - 14
Session B: July 17 - 28
Session C: July 31 - August 11

Registration is also being accepted for single weeks only for all programs excpet for the grade 4-7 theatre program.

Locations: Carlisle School - Corey & Wilkins Buildings, Private Pools, Spalding Field, Town Tennis Courts, Carlisle Kid's House

Program Includes:
Red Cross Swim, Tennis, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor Games, Library Time, Performing Arts, “Gotta Dance,” Songs, Music, Dance & Theatre, and Special Activities ”Wacky Wed” & “Fun Fridays”

Children using the Extended Day Program (3:00-6:15 pm) will be bused to Carlisle Kid's House at 3:00 pm. Parents will pick up at Carlisle Kid's House at142 East St., by 6:15 pm

Summer Program - Students entering grades 4 - 7

July 5 - August 11, 2006, Monday thru Friday

Session A: July 5 - 15
Session B: July 17 - 28
Session C: July 31 - August 11

All programs are 2-week sessions.
Options include: morning activity only, afternoon activity only, both morning and afternoon activity, and both morning and afternoon with Extended Day (an additional $190/week, or $160 for the week of July 5).

Children using the Extended Day Program (3:00-6:15 pm) will be bused to Carlisle Kid's House at 3:00 pm. Parents will pick up at Carlisle Kid's House at142 East St., by 6:15 pm.

Activity Descriptions

Archery: TePee Archery, Acton - Learn basic archery skills, how to make arrows & tune bows in a safe, indoor setting.

Bowling: Brunswick Bowling, Lowell - Includes bowling, shoes, pizza & drink

Cooking: Learn safe and simple cooking and how to make fun & healthy snacks in the kitchen (Maple Street home)

Golf: Barrie Bruce Golf School at the Billerica Country Club - Learn etiquette, position & swing with woods & irons, (pitch, chip & putt). Equipment provided. All levels.

Horse Riding: Flying Change Stables Chelmsford - Learn habits of safety and grooming, along with riding lessons. All levels.

Karate: School Exercise Room with instructors from Callahan's Karate School - Learn basic techniques and etiquette in a safe environment. All levels.

Kayak/Canoe: South Bridge Boat House, Concord - Learn strokes, techniques & safety. *Must be Red Cross Level 4+ Swimmer*

Mini Golf, etc.: Kimball's, Westford - two activities/day (Bumper Boats, Mini-Golf, Driving Range, Pitch & Putt), choice of ice cream or soda.

Multi-Sport Games & Swim: Play a variety of games including: field hockey, dodge ball, baseball, frisbee, street hockey, flag football, etc. Play and gain knowledge about various
activities and having fun with a non-competitive approach. Then cool off and go for a swim (recreational, not a lesson).

Pet Care: Learn to be responsible when taking care of pets, feeding, grooming and playing in a safe environment. Field trip included.

Pottery: Make hand-built pottery using white clay. Glazing and firing included. Opportunity to use a pottery wheel. (South Street studio)

Jewelry Making: Make a variety of items, including necklaces, pins, bracelets, earring, key chains, etc.

Swim: Learn swim & safety skills at appropriate level.

Tennis: Improve your game with drills, games and match play.

Time to Clay: Time To Clay, Chelmsford - Work with a variety of materials, clay, mosaics, tiles, painting, etc.

Theatre/Dance: FUN, FUN, FUN!!! Designed for the “performer”. Class teaches stage presence, self confidence and stylistic moves. Group vocals and skits will play a role in this musical. All welcome. Come join us.

Wall Climbing: Learn basic techniques, proper use of ropes, equipment, locking carabineers and belaying.

Counselor in Training Program
Students 13 and Older
Session: A, B or C Monday thru Friday 9:00 to 3:00 pm
Session A: $150, Session B or C: $175
CIT's gain the valuable skills needed and learn the responsibilities to be a counselor by working closely with older teens. CIT's receive CPR and First Aid training.

Water Safety Aid Training
Students 13 and Older
Session: A, B or C Monday thru Friday 9:00 to 3:00 pm
Session A: $150, Session B or C: $175
Includes training & certification for Level 6 swimmers. Learn the skills needed to become an assistant (WSA) to a Water Safety Instructor. WSA's receive CPR & First Aid training.

Workreation
Students 12 to 15 years
Session: A , B or C Monday thru Friday 9:00 to 12 noon
Session A: $100, Session B or C: $125
Looking for something worthwhile to do this summer? Join a group of peers working on a service project in the community. Learn CPR and First Aid and earn 15 hours of Community Service.

Child Care Training
Students 12 to 15 years
Session: A ,B or C Monday thru Friday 12:00 to 3:00 pm
Session A: $100, Session B or C: $125
Learn to be safe & responsible when caring for babies and young children, when & how to ask for help and appropriate play. Learn CPR and First Aid.

Red Cross Swim Lessons: Swim-only

For Non-Summer Camp Participants

(Swim lessons for grades K-3 are included in the Summer Fun Day Program. Grades 4-7 swim lessons may be a chosen activity.)

Monday thru Friday 10 x 45 minute lessons
Location: Various Private Pools
Session A: $110, Session B: $125, Session C: $125

Parent & Child: $125
Monday/Wednesday/Friday, July 10 - August 9: Choose any 10 lessons during the scheduled Mon/Wed/Fri preschool swim time. Children must be toiled trained.

PLEASE NOTE: SWIM-ONLY Participants: you will be notified of pool time and location, the week before lessons begin. Parents drop off and pick Up at Pool Locations.

Lacrosse Camp

Ages 4 thru 6 and entering grades 1 - 9
Days: June 26 - 30 (1 week)
Location: Spalding Field
Boys grades 1-4: 9:00 - 12:00 noon, $155
Boys grades 5-9: 9:00 - 3:00 pm, $255
Co-ed Mini Laxers: (4-6 yrs) 9:00 - 10:00 am, $85

Days: August 14 - 18 (1 week)
Location: Banta-Davis Field, Bedford Rd.
Fees:
Entering Kindergarten (Munchkin) 9:00 to 10:30 am, $72
Grades: 1 to 4 (Nippers & Intermediate) 9:00 to 12:00 noon, $122
Grades: 4 to 8 (Advanced) 9:00 to 12:00 noon, $122

Field Hockey Clinic

For Girls, entering grades 6 - 10
Days: Monday - Thursday, August 14 - 17 (4 days)
Time: 9:00 am to 12:30 noon
Location: Spalding Field
Fee: $150
Instructors: CCHS & Carlisle coaches along with help from the CCHS Varsity team
Learn the basics to specialized skills and rules. Drills, dribbling, passing - offensive & defensive strategies, goal tending, etc. scrimmages and final day tournament.
Bring: Field hockey stick, shin and mouth guards.
( Use the regular Recreation program form to sign up for the Field Hockey Clinic.)
